Don't eat the merchandise

Today mommy and I went to the store to buy some things for my birthday party. I picked out the pink plates, and mommy let me hold them. When mommy wasn't looking, I bit right through the plastic and ate part of a plate. She told me she wanted to see it, and tried to find it in my mouth. But it was too late -- I had already lost it in my tummy. I wanted to eat more of the plate, but mommy took it away from me. Then I got the hiccups. That made me mad, but mommy laughed at me and said I wouldn't have the hiccups if I didn't eat the merchandise. She's so nice that she bought the plates for me anyway. I hope that if I am really good, she'll give them to me again later.

For a minute right before bed, I thought she was going to. Mommy changed my diaper and then yelled to daddy, "I found the plate!" I wanted to see, but she wouldn't let me. hmph. Maybe next time.

Hanging out with daddy

This weekend I got to hang out with my dad all weekend long. Mommy painted the walls in the living room. I wanted to paint the walls, but mommy said I couldn't. Daddy offered to help paint the walls too, but Mommy said no because he paints outside the lines. Painting outside the lines is OK when I am painting on my high chair with sweet potatoes, but it's not OK when it means the paint gets on the ceiling and baseboards. Well, it turns out that Mommy paints outside the lines too, so she probably should have let daddy help. Then she could have blamed it on him.

Anyway, my daddy and I walked all around the house, sang songs, played the guitar, and read books. I like books. Especially ones about animals because my daddy make funny sounds and it make me laugh.

I am also 11 months old today. Mommy also made the invitations for my first birthday party this weekend. I am so excited for my party!

Hello Grannie and Zedeh!

Today I got to see my Grannie and Zedeh. They were not here though. They were at home, which is 3000 miles away. Daddy and Zedeh got videoconferencing, and I got to see them on the computer. It looked like the TV only it wasn't. Grannie and Zedeh were talking to me. They waved and clapped. I did too. I also showed them how I can crawl and walk while Daddy holds my hands. I showed them my dog, too. It was so much fun to see them! I can't wait to talk to them again next week.

mmm...cookies

My mommy makes me cookies out of rice and sweet potatoes - two of my favorite things! She says they are good for me because there is no sugar. I love her cookies. Maverick likes them too.

When it's nice out, Maverick and I sit out front with mommy and wait for daddy to come home from work. I usually climb on my dog, and lick his fur. Then, lay down next to him for cuddles. He rolls on his back and kicks his feet in the air. It makes me laugh so hard I can't catch my breath.

Happy Birthday Mia

Today we went to my friend's birthday party. She turned 1. I like Mia. She can walk. I hope that next time I see her, she will show me how to do that too. The party was fun. I got to see a lot of my friends. There were lots of balloons there. I like balloons, especially red ones. I also got to play in the balls.

Mia is lucky because she has two houses. She has one that is made of wood like ours. Then, she has a second house in the backyard. It's made of a giant balloon. I went inside of the balloon house, and it was OK at first. Then it was bouncing too much and I wasn't so sure anymore so Mommy took me out.

Mia's Mommy and Daddy are really nice. They gave me a bucket full of treats. There was applesauce and apple juice. I wonder how they knew I like apples so much. The bucket is one of my favorite things. As soon as we got home, I filled it up with all my bath toys and blocks. Then I emptied it, and re-filled it, and then did that again.

The party was a lot of fun.
