Brought to you by the color Blue

I love balls. They are fun to play with. I epecially like sitting at the top of the stairs, throwing each one through the gate, and watching it fall to the bottom before throwing the next one. I like giving them to my dog, and taking them back. I like how they float in the bath tub, and I like it when daddy tries to juggle them. Most of all, I like the blue ones. Blue is my favorite color.

Hot Hot Hot

Today was the hottest day of my life. Mommy's car said it was 108 degrees outside on the way home from the store. The news said it was 104 where we are, and 108 where Daddy works. That's hot hot hot!!! It's supposed to be hot like that again tomorrow, and then in the 90s for the next week. The house is already up to 81 degrees. It's getting hard to keep it cool. Mommy and daddy have small air conditioners in our rooms, but the one in my room only works OK. I think that means I'll be able to sleep in their room for the next few days. A slumber party. Fun!

During the next few days, I'll try to stay cool by spashing in my pool. I like splashing in my pool a lot. Today my friend came over and we got to play in the pool together. I like to splash. She doesn't. When I splash, she crawls out of the pool and onto her nanny's lap. Then I laugh and splash some more. Mommy says I need to work on my manners. Whatever.

Innies and innieries

Mommy has a belly button and it's an innie. I found mommy's belly button a few weeks ago. I like to make sure it's still there each night when she gives me a bottle at bed time. But the other night, mommy and daddy both gave me my bed time bottle. Guess what? Daddy has a belly button too! I found it, and I couldn't believe it. At first, I thought maybe mommy gave her belly button to daddy. I looked back and forth between them. Then, I put one hand on each to make sure what my eyes were telling me was true. They both have one! I decided to take a closer look at daddy's. His is innier than mommy's. And, Maverick must have been laying on daddy, because there was hair on his button. That made me laugh. It made me laugh so hard, I slapped my hands on my own belly, and then buried my face into mommy's tummy. I still laugh just thinking about it. Silly daddy.

About My Summer Vacation

Recently, mommy and daddy took a week off work, and my grandparents came to visit. We had a lot of fun. I love my grandparents. Grannie and Grandpa both got on the floor with me to play with my toys. Grannie played hide and seek with me, and Grandpa helped me play in my swimming pool with plastic balls. We had so much fun.

While they were here, we went to the children's museum. Here is a picture of mommy and me playing an instrument.

The children's museum is fun - especially the part where you can play in the water, and crawl through tunnels.

After grannie and grandpa had to go home, I was sad. I wish they could have stayed. Mommy and daddy tried to make me feel better by taking me to the zoo. I liked the zoo a lot. My favorite part was the ducks which aren't really ducks, but penguins. I laughed and laughed at the penguins.

My other favorite part was feeding the birds. These birds were really pretty, but you couldn't stand behind them or they would poop on you. Someone should make bird diapers, because not all people know not to stand behind them. Mommies don't even know. In fact, one bird tried to get mommy's foot, but the poop missed its target. Thank goodness for mommy.

I also so an elephant, and lots of monkeys. I like monkeys. I can even talk to monkeys...oo oo oo oo oo oo oo. I am good at that.

My TV debut!

Today was the fourth of July. My mommy and her friend, who is also my friend's mommy decorated my new ride with streamers, balloons, and funny sparkly stars. Here is a picture of me in the wagon all decorated.

My friend and I thought it looked good. We both sat in the wagon and started around the block for a ride. We went to the school, and it turns out that lots of people were busy decorating their wagons. There was so much to see. And since I love balloons, I was really happy. It turns out that we were going to be in a parade. I was excited because I had been practicing for parades ever since I saw the junior Rose parade a few weeks ago, and now was my chance to strut my stuff.

Anyway, the parade must have been a big deal because the local NBC affiliate was there. The mommies (mine and my friend's) took the wagon over to the cameraman and reporter, and started talking to them. You can see in this picture, I was refusing to look at them. I am a bit camera shy.

After we talked to the news, the parade started, and we went all around the neighborhood. It was fun! A lot of the neighbors were outside clapping and waving to us. I was too shy to wave back. But, every time my friend was looking at someone else and not me, I stole her rice cake and ate it. That was fun. We saw the news guy a couple more times. Mommy kept trying to get me to wave my flag. I figured out how to do that after the parade, when we were almost home. Flag waving is fun.

I didn't wave the flag to the news guy, but I did get on the news! If you want to see the clip, email mommy. She can send it to you. But it's a big file.

Happy Fourth of July!
