My Vacation

Last week we went on vacation. First, we took a long car ride. It took 8 hours to get there. I wasn't very happy in the car. I made sure my parents knew that. When we got to our cabin at the beach, mommy sat me down. I was so excited. I had been thinking about something all day in the car, and I couldn't wait to try it out. So, I got on my hands and knees, and started crawling. Mommy said they were in trouble because the cabin wasn't baby proofed. I don't know what she meant by that. I do know that it's fun to put my fingers in the holes in the wall, and to find daddy's dirty shoes to chew on.

The cabin was nice except for one thing: there was no bathtub. So, I had to take a shower with Mommy. I don't like showers. The water gets in your eyes, and there are no duckies to play with. People should just take baths.

The next day, we went to a big park. There were lots of trees. We went to the top of a hill and Daddy took me to the top of the watch tower. I was excited, because my daddy's watch is one of my favorite things. But we must have gotten lost or something, because all we did was climb some stairs and look out. I don't know what we were looking for. Maybe someone lost their watch.

Then, we had a picnic, and I ate lots of rice puffs. Rice puffs are my favorite thing to eat in the whole world. Mommy said I am going to turn into a rice puff.

We went looking for crabs, but didn't see any. I was sad because my Mr. Crab is my favorite toy, and I was hoping for another. You can see Mr. Crab in this picture - he is stuck in my ball.

We went on a hike, and saw a waterfall. It was just like the shower, only outside. And much colder. I liked the hike though. It's fun to sit on logs and play with moss.

I also sat on the beach some. Here I am looking at the water. In this picture, I am thinking about my dog. I missed him, because he stayed home with Rose.

We also got to ride on a boat. The boat is a really good swimmer. It is strong too, because it took our car, along with at least 100 others!

My vacation was fun. I am happy to be home though. Now that I can crawl, I can play with Maverick more.

More teeth and new things to taste

This was an interesting week. Mommy and daddy got sick, so I had to take care of them. I didn't get sick, and I didn't make a fuss even though I was busy growing a new tooth (that makes 2!). I just made them laugh a lot by saying things like "Dude" and showing them my new tricks. First, I learned how to clap my hands really well. I also learned how to wave. It was easy. You see I am really good at scratching things. So, Mommy said to just turn my hand around and scratch the air. There are a lot of itches in the air, but I can't see them. My favorite trick of all is licking. That one makes mommy and daddy laugh too. Usually I'll find a spot, open wide, take a nice long lick and then I look at them and smile. This week, I licked the carpet, the couch, daddy's pants, and mommy's arm. I licked mommy's arm after she went running. It tasted salty so I licked it three times. Mommy says that's gross.

Dude!

Dude
Duuuuude
DUDE!!!!!!!

My first word is Dude. I say it when I point to daddy, to the dog, to the fireplace, to my rubber ducky, and to my mommy. I say it to the light, to the chair, and to my lunch. I say it to my muffy dog, to my drums, and to my stroller. DUDE!

My doggie and me

My doggie likes me a lot more these days.
