Seven Weeks Old

I am 7 weeks old today! It was a great day! My mommy hosted the playgroup, so I got to see my friends! Then, Daddy came home early, and we got to go out to dinner together. We then went for a walk to see a fountain with Ramona the Pest, Henry Higgins and his dog Risby. I have no idea who they are, but Mommy said they are from her favorite kids book, and that she'll read it to me when I am older. I can't wait.

Then, we got to meet Karen and Brian. I cried when Karen held me, but it was only because I was tired. Just to prove it to her, I also cried when Mommy and Daddy held me. Didn't they know it was time for me to go to bed? So, they walked back to the Bed & Breakfast, and I got to sleep there. It was so exciting to see all the new things, and to meet the inn keeper. He was so nice.

Tomorrow we will have a nice breakfast, and then a doggy play date with Cassie. I am so busy!

My First Vacation

This weekend we went to the Oregon Coast. It was so cold that Mommy and Daddy had to go buy a fleece suit for me. I had never felt fleece before, so when Mommy put the hoodie on, I smiled and then tried to eat it. It was so cozy.

We had a lot of fun. Daddy flew his kite while Mommy showed me the waves and the sand. Waves are loud! The sound was just like my little stuffed lamb at home, and it put me right to sleep. We also went to Newport, where I got to see some seals. Seals look a lot like my dog Maverick!

We came home on Sunday, but Mommy said we should have stayed at the coast because it was cold there and in the 90s at home. I think we should have stayed there too because I really didn't like the long car ride home.

When we got home, Daddy went to pick up Maverick. He was sad because he had to stay at the kennel all weekend, but he was so happy to see us. This week we will have another sleepover, because we are going to stay at the bed & breakfast where Mommy and Daddy got married. I am really excited.

Picnics and first smiles

Today I am really happy. We had a fun weekend, and I slept a long time last night -- 4 1/2 hours in a row!

This weekend, we had to take Granny Carolyn to the airport. I was sad she left because I really had fun when she sang songs to me. Then, we went to the store and to a picnic for Tom, Denise and Yoshimi. They are going to move soon, and that's too bad, because mommy and daddy like them a lot. Yoshimi is 22 months old. She knows how to walk and talk. I hope I'll be able to do that some day too. At the picnic, we saw Julie, Jay, Christie and Phil. We also met some new people, including a baby that was born just two days after me. He was cute. Everyone had fun at the picnic. I stared at some trees for a while, and daddy played a game with everyone where you hit a ball with a stick. It looked like fun.

On Sunday, Mommy went for her first run since November. She looked all over for her running shoes before she remembered that she threw them out in the trash during her cleaning frenzy a few weeks before I got here. She had fun anyway, even though she said she didn't break any speed records. I stayed home with daddy and made him bounce on the exercise ball while singing Waltzing Mathilda to me. That is one of my favorite things to do! I also smiled for the first time while Mommy blew raspberries on my tummy. I did it three times in a row so Mommy thinks it must have been a real smile and not just gas.

Today, we went for a long walk. When we got home, I was hungry and started to cry. Maverick the big black dog came up and sniffed my nose. Mommy told him that was enough and to back up. He kissed me first and then went to sit down. That was so nice of him, I stopped crying and everything! This afternoon, Mommy's friend from college, Danielle, is going to visit with Maddie and Anne. Anne is only 4 months older than me. It will be fun to play with each other!
