Today was the fourth of July. My mommy and her friend, who is also my friend's mommy decorated my new ride with streamers, balloons, and funny sparkly stars. Here is a picture of me in the wagon all decorated.
My friend and I thought it looked good. We both sat in the wagon and started around the block for a ride. We went to the school, and it turns out that lots of people were busy decorating their wagons. There was so much to see. And since I love balloons, I was really happy. It turns out that we were going to be in a parade. I was excited because I had been practicing for parades ever since I saw the junior Rose parade a few weeks ago, and now was my chance to strut my stuff.
Anyway, the parade must have been a big deal because the local NBC affiliate was there. The mommies (mine and my friend's) took the wagon over to the cameraman and reporter, and started talking to them. You can see in this picture, I was refusing to look at them. I am a bit camera shy.
After we talked to the news, the parade started, and we went all around the neighborhood. It was fun! A lot of the neighbors were outside clapping and waving to us. I was too shy to wave back. But, every time my friend was looking at someone else and not me, I stole her rice cake and ate it. That was fun. We saw the news guy a couple more times. Mommy kept trying to get me to wave my flag. I figured out how to do that after the parade, when we were almost home. Flag waving is fun.
I didn't wave the flag to the news guy, but I did get on the news! If you want to see the clip, email mommy. She can send it to you. But it's a big file.
Happy Fourth of July!
